Wabwile Simiyu

Assistant Director Industries

Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives

Wabwile is an Assistant Director of Industries in the Ministry of Industry Trade and Cooperatives with vast experience in Industrial Engineering and Management and currently involved with the Directorate of Engineering and Construction in the State Department for Industrialization. Previously, Wabwile has worked with UNDP Kenya, African Regional Centre for Engineering Design and Manufacturing in Nigeria, Associated Steels fabrication division and on part time as a lecturer university of Egerton Industrial and Energy Engineering Department. He has a keen interest in productivity improvement programmes and holds a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering university of Nairobi.

Peter Kithuku

Head, ICT Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries & Irrigation.

Peter is currently the Head of ICT in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries & Irrigation with over 15 years experience in ICT sector. Peter has successfully coordinated the Development and Implementation of web-based Crop Insurance information Management System that manages and monitors uptake of crop insurance by farmers. Peter has also been instrumental in the implementation of a Maize Subsidy Information Management System that managed the Maize
subsidy programme across the entire country last year when there was acute shortage of Maize Flour. These are geared towards achieving 100% Food and Nutrition Security, Agenda No. 1 of the Big Four Agenda. Before joining the Ministry of Agriculture, Peter also worked at CMC Motors Ltd, Kenyatta Hospital, and Ministry of Industrialization. Peter holds Masters of Science in Data Communications and Bachelor of Science from Kenyatta University.

Kellen Njoroge

I am an IT professional who is passionate about innovation and personal development. I have over 8 years experience in the information technology arena, having participated extensively in the various phases of the software development life cycle. I have worked as a software developer, solutions architect, data analyst, business analyst and IT service manager and have been an
instructor at a technology college, teaching young minds the fundamentals of software development.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer science from Kenyatta University (class of 2007), and I am currently pursuing a masters degree in Information Technology at Strathmore university- Business Intelligence major. I have a keen interest in disruptive technology- game changing innovations that shift the status
quo. I am passionate about paving the way for those who will come after me- especially women- to make their path in IT less treacherous than mine has been.

Jane Otoko

Head, ICT

Ministry of Health

Jane is the Head of ICT at the Ministry of Health with experience in the ICT field and currently involved with the HealthCare IT (HCIT) Project as part of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Big 4 Agenda.  The project will digitize patient-centric services in public hospitals.  Previously, she worked at the Ministry of Interior and was involved in the implementation of the National
ID System and Civil Registration System.  She has a keen interest in information systems and she holds a Master of Science degree in Information Technology from Strathmore University.

Augustine Mwaura

Chief IT Officer Housing & Urban Development

Augustine is an IT specialist with interest in information systems in different fields. With an experience of over 12years he has seen the development of the labour market information system and currently being involved in the national housing management information system (housing portal) under the big four agenda. Currently heads the ICT department. Augustine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Masters of Science in Information Systems from University of Nairobi.

George Murage

Group Head of Technology Operations

Cellulant

George is a seasoned IT veteran with 18 years’ experience in network engineering, service management, information security, cloud technologies and in scalable web architecture. George was instrumental in the design and delivery of East Africa’s first cloud services and in streamlining the engineering and technical operations of a major network operator that yielded superior customer service, reduced churn and delivered significant savings in CAPEX and OPEX. George is passionate about people and operational excellence and currently leads the technology operations team which has responsibility for the systems that power Cellulant’s payment services. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University and an MBA from Strathmore University. While not tinkering with technology, George is a cooking enthusiast whose zeal for the exquisite meal, has brought occasional misery to his friends and family who put up with his wanting culinary skills.
